We're very lucky to live on the fringes of the Lake District. There are numerous places to stay and to eat if you want to visit this area, and a few of the best ones have invited us to design their websites.

Mr & Mrs Berwick offer a warm and friendly welcome for bed and breakfast to their lovely old manor house home overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake in the stunning scenery of the northern Lake District. Be sure to look out for the red squirrels!

A friendly bed & breakfast located near Hesket Newmarket amongst the largely undiscovered Northern Fells of the Lake District, Howbeck Lodge is a working farm and an ideal stopping place for anyone on the coast-to-coast walk.

Set in the spectacular scenery of Wasdale in the Lake District, in the shadow of Scafell, England's highest mountain, this delightful traditional 2-bedroom farm cottage is availabe for short breaks or longer holidays.

Away from the busy tourist routes, but still central enough to explore both south into the Lake District and north to the unspoiled Solway Coast, The Beeches Caravan Park at Gilcrux, near Cockermouth, is highly recommended, both for the warmth of the welcome and for their good environmental credentials. Another place to spot red squirrels!

Tucked away in the unspoiled village of Uldale amongst the lovely northern fells of the Lake District, the Snooty Fox offers both comfortable accomodation and excellent cuisine, as well as a good selection of locally brewed real ales.
